Both the Decentraland Dinos, and Waifumon Gen-2 are also smart wearables so yes they also have animations where they will be following the character arounds. (Air Pets) Waifumon like a fairy from games that have fairies like Genish Impact, Peter Pan and Zelda as well as (Ground Pets) that walk or crawl follow the players. All animation and behaviors are incorporated in the smart contract.

As you are telling me about your guys too had some ideas a while back too which is great and can probably agree that this could be not only new cash flow opportunities for Decentraland but also potentially very popular new feature for players that have already expressed high demand. Other platforms as well Pokemon, League of Legends new Jungler pets and even Pal World last month. However I also understand some concerns since it can open some people may find as issues in terms of ascetic quality control why we deducing the almost 3 year now delay.

Why we too agree and think it is best to take things slow and launch these slots now as (beta slots) only to be used for Waifumon Gen-2 and Decentraland Dinos. After we launch these we can learn a lot about solutions to overcome potential hurdles when the public also starts launching their air and land pets for these slots but also can test the demand even more.

Ive been discussing this topic with the team. We want to consider the fully fleshed functionality to allow pets in the platform in the future, and there are several drawbacks on just doing it on a "beta" approach as we have learn those things tend to be hard to modify once there are out for the community to enjoy. One thing we are happy to explore is for you to submit your collections reusing the Tiara or Earring slots with portable experiences. Once we reach a point where we can work on pets, those wearables can be migrated to the new category. Wdyt?

Here is a screen shot. We have been told by the wearable committee these walking pets are no longer allowed in alternative slots even tho this proposal did not get the votes to pass. Yes them enforcing a proposal that did not even get enough votes to pass is 100% illogical yet here we are. So sadly no this idea is not a solution as it has been attempted almost 3 years ago.

Totally understand your concern with your forecast with potentially some minor drawbacks. Is there anyway we can help? What if we just did one of the A through C solutions? And under category for the glbs we put category (beta land pet) and (beta air pet). This would solve everything. And then when we ready to expand to the community and take on those more complex challenges pets could bring and ready for launch we can then create the new slots (land pet) and (air pet) however in the code we tell it to accept all wearables that have categories (land pet), (air pet), (beta air pet) , (beta land pet) that way they will be automatically migrated adn then just delete the (beta land pet) and (beta air pet) slots at that time when they see it works?

I understand this was not a possibility 3 years ago, but as I mention, this is something we are open to do now and it's approved from the foundation. We just need to discuss this with the curators commitee and unlock it for this special purpose. Creating new slots means creating new types of smart contracts, and thats definitive, we cant "remove" anything that is blockchain bound. Unfortunately this is the solution that I can offer now I we dont want to pospone it further until we push this in the roadmap.

Alvaro Luque pilero Ok this may be the solution thank you. After some thinking and taking your instruction I think this will be the best method to execute it. I am just confirming since I forecast the same issues as last time but I think your guys approval and confirmation will help us get to the finish line here so I really appreciate it.

We will be submitting:

-Waifumon Gen-2 Via (Mouth) Category

-Decentrand Dinos "working name" Via (Hands) Category

-Armory Club "working name for BAYC, ApeCoin, and other top approved NFT collections via (Tiara) Category

Even tho in the past we have been told this is not allowed via many reasons they gave you guys are now saying it is allowed for us for these 3 linked collections this one time. You guys are saying it is approved on your end that these pets move and are smart wearables and they may also not be in there required area, dimensions, triangle/poly count they, file method my cause what hey call "clipping" etc etc. You guys are approving these on your end to be approved even tho they break any type of wearable committee rule or any type of other random variable rule etc etc

Just trying to eliminate any other random variable road block we may get just in case to put this 3 year long venture to a close. If works thank you. If you guys approve we will get these finally done this week and please keep open until we do so we can keep working via here. THANKS AGAIN!

I think we need to stick only 1 category for this request, instead of spreading it across multiple categories, for the sake of being able to index and migrate them later if we implement the pet slot in the future. In this case I would suggest to choose between earrings, top heads or tiaras, and all of the collections will be included in the same category independently of the brand. Otherwise, multiple pets will be able to be instantiated at the same time in different slots, and thats probably not something we are thinking for an theoretical Pet slot.

Regarding the wearable itself, we need to differentiate between two parts: The physical wearable and the portable experience (smart wearable).

The physical wearable: If you want other players to see any representation of the wearable, in a stacic way, you will need to convey with the standard regulations on number of tris, textures, meshes etc, being flexible in the location of the geometry (shoulder, next to the feet etc). Curators commitee will still entitled to push back any wearable that disrupt the harmony of the avatar and may cause problems.

Portable experience (smart wearable): this will need to stick with any other portable experience rules, complying with the limitations of any other scene running. Please keep in mind, that portable experiences attached to smart wearables, are only visible by the player wearing it, and its not a multiplayer experience. In case you want your pet to be moving, playing animations following the avatar etc, this things will run exclusively on the owner client side, unless you make your portable experience a multiplayer scene synchronizing this on your own backend for all the other players that are wearing another wearable of your kind. If you dont want any duplicity on the geometry, the physical wearable may be empty, but other players wont have any visual queue that you are wearing a pet.

Alvaro Luque pilero I think there is some confusion here. This is not just one request. This is multiple requests that have accumulated over almost 3 years now as mentioned multiple times.

I was stoked to see you finally created a solution that can work and now with this lengthy response I am beyond confused now and feel liek we have restarted in the never ending loop. After reading this new reply this is now no longer a solution since your requested method contradicts itself in many ways.

Just as an example now how do you recommend the Decnetraland Dino's will work when they are not in-fact next to feet and more tries that fit in the shoe and pants category not tiara, earrings and above head category because they are below waste.

So confused now lol. How about two more simpler solutions.

A. Have us create the Air Pet Slot and Land Pet Slot as the community requested. We will only approve it for the Waifumon Gen-2 and Decentraland Dinos that was approved by the community via the Decentraland DAO. And at any later date you guys can utilize and approve other collections in those slots as you see fit or when it matches with your preferred time line. or

B. We just give you these 30,000 glb files and you guys can just make them work and and link however you want to the linked NFTs?

Hi @aaron leupp, thanks for suggesting this feature and getting community validation. I'm sorry you have been waiting this long for this feature.

We will work on a design to accomodate a pet slot that can support land and flying pets. It should also support animations for walking/jumping/afk while following you. Unfortunately I can not give you a timeline for it's execution.

As a short term solution for your collection, I suggest you to publish it under the Tiara category. The validation of the DAO proposal might encourage the curation committee to approve it.

For short term solution for the collection you suggesting I have already tried that as said above. Anyway I can get approval form the foundation to get these three (Waifumon Gen-2, Decentraland Dinos, and The Armory Club Alliance items "working title" "BACY, ApeCoin ect etc you had me get") auto approved for any slot catigory? Then we can just pivot the catigory on our end after the slots are made?
