Enable SEO Tags on Wearables
complete
Nikki Fuego
For the last two years, every time I publish a wearable, I'm given the option to add tags to the wearable via the builder. Never once have these tags been searchable in the marketplace. There is currently not a good way for users to find certain styles, colors, etc. for wearables. For example, if someone new the marketplace wanted to find anime wearables, there is no way for them to search for anything that has an anime related tag unless it's in the name or description. Additionally, if an item has a certain tag that someone is searching for, it should be ranked higher in the search results than a wearable that does not have that tag.
I myself have published from 2 different wallets in my time here, and I tag everything I make with "NikkiFuego." If tags were actually activated it would be much easier for new users or even current users to find
all
of my publishing's with a single search. Where as right now, I do not have a single page/link that displays all
of my publishing's. I've attached an example.

Hello Nikki Fuego, thank you for your request.
This idea has been explored before, as it is really a good improvement, but it was discarded due to complexities on how the queries are done (tags are stored in a different place from the Names and Descriptions, which makes it hard to combine the results in the same page). I will still shape it and discuss it with the engineers to see if we can find a technical solution.
Regarding the "dragon" search, I can see 53 results if I type it and hit enter while focusing on the Wearables tab. Are you doing anything different?
Nikki Fuego
Nicolas - Product Lead @ Decentraland Foundation My example for searching "dragon" was to show that it doesn't display my Fuego Draco Hands which have the tag "dragon".
If the old system of tags is not feasible, maybe a new one needs invented? I don't think it's very sufficient to just settle for Name and Description SEO keywords as neither of those allow for many characters. If neither option is viable we should remove tags entirely as they are very confusing for new artists and can be frustrating.

Nikki Fuego I see your point! And you are right, tags are not searchable, the team is analyzing it's viability. If it's possible, I totally agree this is a great improvement for the Search.

Nikki Fuego I got good news from the dev team! this is totally possible. It is already shaped and I will propose it for the next Cycle.
I will make the shape public in the Product Development Cycles board soon: https://www.notion.so/decentraland/299d3d81a51a45f2aa15982a8612d3e2?v=cf433b3c88114138b6ab3b04c4b1cad0)

They are not trying very hard here...

DOCTOR dripp: Please use this page for Requests, not opinions.

This is because the search is broken. They just closed my other request about broken search and it is still a major issue causing creators to not be discoverable.

DOCTOR dripp: Search is not broken, you have different tabs depending on what you are looking for.
I'm attaching an example from OpenSea where they do the same, only with a different UX architecture.
