Maybe you should rethink the whole caching of the thumbnails from the IPFS (?). It looks like they are always loaded again and again instead of caching these somewhere (shouldn't take too much space) and only update these with a cronjob from time to time or when a change to the thumbnail has been done. Just my two cents fom my coder's point of view
